Distinctive features
- Taiwan's first World Athletics label race, with green-race practices, eco lodging, and an explicit sustainability policy built into the event.
- Recent editions have advanced sports equality through measures including a non-binary category, blind pacers, and entry allocations for women.
- Runner remarks repeatedly describe the north-coast course as more attritional and heat-exposed than the certification pedigree might suggest.
